Founded by Keith Pillinger and Jackie Pillinger in 1972, Bristol Ambulance was originally named Bristol Paramedics. With a purpose built station at their house in the Longwell Green area of Bristol, Keith & Jackie quickly built a reputation as a reliable provider of patient transport to local hospitals and the community.
With continued growth came the need for larger premises, and it wasn’t long before Bristol Paramedics moved to a new site in Kingswood, Bristol. The new site allowed for a rapid increase in capacity in fleet, and Keith even designed and championed the building of several purpose built ambulance vehicles, including the world’s smallest ambulance.
From then on, Bristol Ambulance has seen huge growth as demand on healthcare services has increased and patient numbers continue to rise. In 2017 Keith & Jackie retired from the business, handing the reigns over to their son, Shaun Pillinger, who formed BAEMS Limited and the wider BAEMS group, which includes a large fleet management and maintenance profile, on top of our vast and ever growing ambulance & healthcare operations.
Today BAEMS Limited (Trading as Bristol Ambulance EMS) has an estate profile that includes 10 locations in Bristol and across the South West that is planned to rapidly increase over the next few years, expanding our profile nationally across England and into Wales.
